- Are passionate about working with young children.
- Have passed a 3-year Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in any discipline from a recognised university with a minimum of 50% marks.

- Self-Paced Learning through online modules, readings, videos, and quizzes.
- Live Sessions where instructors will cover the theoretical content, address queries, and facilitate discussions online.
- In-Person Workshops and Field Immersion to facilitate hands-on learning and practical application.
- Internship where students will apply what they have learned in a real-world early childhood education setting, working under the guidance of a mentor.
- Assessments in the form of individual and group assignments, reports, presentations, quizzes, and exams to assess and measure learning.
- A Self-Paced Module will be released at the beginning of the week. You’ll start the week by studying and learning at your own pace, using the materials provided.
- We will hold Study Groups and Office Hours once a week. During this time, you can engage with your peers, ask questions, get clarifications, and discuss what you’ve learned so far with your instructor.
- You will attend Live Classes for 2-4 hours over the weekend. This is when you will have live, interactive sessions with your instructors and classmates. You will be able to participate in discussions, ask questions, and learn new concepts in real time.

- Assignments: Written reflections, application based assignments such as developing a lesson plan, and quizzes
- Practical Assessments: In-classroom applications during the internship and workshops.

All You Need to Know About the Program
What is Early Childhood Education?
Early Childhood Education (ECE) refers to educational programs and practices designed for children from birth to around 8 years old, covering the preschool and early elementary years. It focuses on the holistic development of the child, nurturing cognitive, emotional, social, and physical skills. Learning in ECE often emphasizes play-based and experiential approaches to build foundational skills for lifelong learning and success.
Is this a full-time or part-time course?
The Post Graduate Diploma in Early Childhood Education is designed to be flexible and is offered as a part-time online course. There will be two in-person workshops and one field immersion session over the course of the year, conducted in Bangalore.
Do I need to have a B.Ed. to pursue the Post Graduate Diploma in Early Childhood Education?
No. A B.Ed. degree is not mandatory to apply for the Post Graduate Diploma in Early Childhood Education. The course is open to graduates of any stream, having a minimum of 50% marks.
Do I need to have teaching experience to pursue the Post Graduate Diploma in Early Childhood Education?
No. Teaching experience is not mandatory to pursue the Post Graduate Diploma in Early Childhood Education.
Is it mandatory to complete an internship as part of the Program?
Yes, it is mandatory to complete an internship at an early childhood education center in order to complete the course.
Will I be compensated during the internship?
Compensation during the internship may be provided by the organization the student is interning at. Ekya PDI and CMR University cannot guarantee or contribute to such compensation.
Does Ekya Professional Development Institute or CMR University offer placement opportunities after the completion of Post Graduate Diploma in Early Childhood Education?
Candidates graduating from the Post Graduate Diploma in Early Childhood Education, will be given the opportunity to take part in the recruitment drive conducted by the HR department at Ekya Early Years. Placements will be offered to students who successfully complete the interview/other selection processes during the recruitment drive.
While all endeavours will be made to place candidates at the completion of the course, Ekya Professional Development Institute and CMR University do not guarantee placements at the end of the Program.
Is this program suitable for someone without prior teaching experience?
Yes. The PG diploma program is designed to accommodate individuals with diverse backgrounds, providing foundational knowledge and hands-on training for those new to teaching.
Can this program be pursued alongside a job?
Yes. This is a part-time online blended learning program. Students can pursue this course alongside a job.
Is there an entrance test or interview for admission?
No entrance test will be conducted for admission. However, the application process includes a screening of documents and a telephonic/in-person interview. Only after successful screening will a candidate be offered admission. Submitting the application does not guarantee admission.
Will I receive a certification or license in addition to my diploma?
No. Participants who successfully complete the program requirements will be awarded only a postgraduate diploma in early childhood education, which is recognized by the CMR University, Bangalore. No additional certifications or licenses will be awarded.
Is the program aligned with the National Credit Framework as defined by the government?
Yes. The Past Graduate Diploma in Early Childhood Education is aligned with the National Credit Framework (NCrF) as defined by the Government of India.
How many credits are awarded upon completion of the program?
A total of 40 credits are awarded upon successful completion of the Program.
Are scholarships or financial aid options available?
No. Currently, the Ekya Professional Development Institute does not offer any scholarships or financial aid to students. Students are however welcome to apply for relevant scholarships and financial aid provided by other institutions.
